Character Theory:
All main characters experience a time where they face a crossroads (challenge
and/or issue) and must make a decision that may be important and affects the
story/plot in some way.
5 Examples:
- In the book Uglies by Scott Westerfield, the main character Tally makes the decision to find Shay and become pretty, or never find Shay and stay ugly.
- In Harry Potter and the Sorcers Stone by J.K. Rowling, Harry decided to go to Hogwarts instead of staying home.
- In House of Hades by Rick Riordan, Nico decides to confess to Jason and Cupid that he had a crush on Percy
- In 13 1/2, the main character makes the decision to go to Ashley's house, and when her bird dies she makes the decision to stay
- In Squid Girl, the protagonist, Sierra makes the decision that after vacation that she will change her image, and it will affect her life forever
